Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai on Spring Bal Diwas announced that the story of Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, sons of the ninth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh, would be included in the school curriculum in the state. Speaking at a seminar at the medical college auditorium, Sai said the recording would help younger generations learn from the sacrifices of the two young martyrs.
“The stories of such brave figures will remind young minds of the sacrifices made by Sikh Gurus to protect the country,” Sai said. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his appointment Spring Bal Diwas in honor of the martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh.
The Prime Minister noted that this addition to the curriculum was intended to inspire students by educating them about the ideals and resilience of the world Sahibzadas.
As Chhattisgarh celebrates its 25th year of statehood, Sai reiterated the government’s commitment to building a socially harmonious and progressive society. The seminar was attended by dignitaries, political leaders and members of the Sikh community.
Prem Shankar Sidar, a keynote speaker at the event, described the Sahibzadas as the youngest martyrs in history. He said their steadfastness in their beliefs provided a timeless lesson in courage and resilience.
