By admin If you’re interested in Sonos’ newest soundbar, the Sonos Arc Ultra, you’re in for a treat. Only recently we wrote about a leak that revealed what the soundbar will look like, and even earlier we found out how much it might cost. Now, thanks to a massive leak on B&H Photo, we have an even clearer picture of what we can expect from the new smart soundbar.
The leak concerns two products. The first is the aforementioned Sonos Arc Ultra, and the second is the Sonos Sub 4. This is the latest version of the Sonos subwoofer, a wireless device that adds more sonority to movies and TV. Here is the content of the leak.
Impressive surround sound
According to the article, the Arc Ultra will feature fourteen drivers, giving it impressive 9.1.4 surround sound channels. This includes “seven tweeters, six midrange speakers and a built-in subwoofer” to really deliver the noise. Interestingly, it has 3 drivers (more than the previous generation Sonos Arc), so we expect some truly impressive sound from this soundbar. This is made possible thanks to the new “Sound Motion technology”, which “surrounds you with precise sound from every direction”. To us it sounds like Spatial Audio.
All this is provided by Sonos’ Trueplay system, which uses integrated microphones to measure room acoustics and adjust the sound profile accordingly. This means the soundbar should sound great no matter what room you place it in. It works great with the Sonos Era 300 smart speaker, so it should be a great addition here.
We also received confirmation of new features on board. In addition to the new touch controls at the top of the bar, Bluetooth is now available. We’ll have to wait to test it, but we think it could rank high on our list of the best soundbars.
New subwoofer
The Sonos Arc Ultra isn’t the only product affected by the leak. Also available is the Sonos Subwoofer 4, the latest version of Sonos’ bass soundbar. One of the most important features is that when you connect a new subwoofer to the Sonos Ultra, the soundbar stops producing lower tones and leaves everything to the subwoofer. This should mean that the bass is clearer and there will be no interference between the two devices.
It will also work with Trueplay to make sure the audio sounds as good as possible in your TV room. This leak is the most information we’ve seen about Sonos products so far, and since it comes from a trusted source, we can say it’s plausible. Whatever happens, I wouldn’t want to be that poor person at B&H Photo who accidentally hit “publish” before I was supposed to.
