ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WITN) – Police in Elizabeth City are investigating an armed robbery they say occurred at a convenience store.
Last night, just before 9:30 p.m., Elizabeth City Police said they responded to the Circle D Food Mart at 1013 North Road Street for a report of an armed robbery.
When they arrived, police said they spoke with two employees, who said two unknown black men had entered the business and demanded money.
Police say the first suspect is a black man approximately 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, purple latex gloves, a black hoodie, camouflage pants and white and black sneakers.
The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall. Police say he was last seen wearing a black ski mask, purple latex gloves, a light blue hoodie, black pants with white polka dots and tan work boots.
An employee had to be taken to Albermarle Sentara Medical to be treated for non-threatening injuries after being struck in the face.
