2025 is just around the corner, and we already are started previewing what’s going to happenWe also take the time to look ahead and give you ample warning that there will be a number of major series departures throughout the year.
Before we explore the list of titles that could leave Netflix in 2025, we should remember that the removal dates are not always set in stone and are simply contract licenses that expire. As a result, Netflix and the actual owners of said content (e.g. NBC Universal with To take) could agree to renew the license. Also worth noting that these dates are mainly for Netflix in the United States and departure times may vary from region to region.
We will simply do that for even more removals in 2025 has published a list of more than 90 Netflix Originals that are scheduled to leave the service all year round.
Supernatural (Seasons 1-15)
Expected deletion date: December 18, 2025
One of The CW’s two titles ending their roughly five-year run on Netflix following the final season, it will be a fan favorite Supernatural. The show has been a regular on Nielsen’s year-end lists, so this will upset a major fan come the end of the year.
The series ran for 14 years and produced a total of 327 episodes. That amounts to 228 hours and change, which really amounts to nine and a half full days of content. So to watch it, you’ll need to set aside more than a week to clear your calendar. Considering how much this show is watched, it could be ripe for renewal, but for now we have to assume it will die.
Arrow
Expected deletion date: December 18, 2025
Sticking with The CW for our second choice is Arrow, the first major show of the Arrowverse (that is available almost entirely on Netflixexcept for a few shows) to leave and the rest will follow in the coming years. Presumably Arrow will take its place within Max, where most other DC content resides once it leaves Netflix.
To learn more about The CW’s other shows that came to Netflix in a lucrative deal in the 2010s and when they leave Netflixwe’ve got you covered.
Madam Secretary (Seasons 1-6)
Expected deletion date: May 15, 2025
If you can totally believe it, the CBS series Madam Secretary It almost ended five years ago, and next year will mark five years since Netflix acquired the rights to the sixth and final season. After that addition, the clock started ticking on when the show would leave and that time will come in mid-2025, when all six seasons will presumably leave to take a permanent position on Paramount+.
The political thriller was on the air between 2014 and 2019 and starred Téa Leoni as Elizabeth McCord, initially Secretary of State and later promoted to President. If you like Netflix The diplomatyou will definitely want to visit or discover this show again before it leaves.
To take (Seasons 1-9)
Expected deletion date: July 1, 2025
Suits arrived on Netflix in 2023, during the height of the Hollywood strikes, and dominated Netflix’s US top 10 for weeks, generating a lot of press. Of course, Netflix only got the first eight seasons, with season 9 eventually being added this year, but the rights will expire in July, two years after it first landed.
For this one, we’d probably expect a new deal to be retained To take on Netflix for now, especially considering the amount of headlines this show generated when it first came out. Plus, it’s in NBC Universal’s best interest to keep people interested in the show as the reboot takes place the spores come off.
NCIS (seasons 12–17)
Expected deletion date: June 30, 2025
For a long time, NCIS was set to leave Netflix entirely in mid-2024, and while most of the early seasons left the streamer in the United States, we got a surprise shuffle with some newer seasons added alongside the deletions. Seasons 12 through 17 will be reshuffled (or removed entirely) in mid-2025. Will it leave like Criminal Minds did and never look back, or will Netflix just license some newer seasons and lose older ones? We’ll know next year.
Most AMC shows
Expected deletion date: August 19, 2025
As we first reported this summer, Netflix has acquired the licenses for nearly a dozen AMC titles landing mid-August 2024. As confirmed by Netflix at the time of the announcement, all of these shows were licensed to Netflix on a short-term one-year license basis. While we suspect we’re in for a shuffle, all of these titles are disappearing as they stand:
- A Discovery of Witches (seasons 1-3)
- Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice (Season 1)
- Dark Wind (seasons 1-2)
- Fear the Walking Dead (seasons 1-8)
- Gangs of London (seasons 1-2)
- Interview with the Vampire (Season 1)
- In the Badlands (seasons 1-3)
- Kevin can fk himself (seasons 1-2)
- Monsieur Spade (Season 1)
Disney shows
Throughout 2024, Netflix has granted temporary streaming licenses to a number of shows owned by Disney and its subsidiaries such as ABC and FX. Each of those more than ten shows has been added for eighteen months, which means that the first group will leave halfway through the year and more will follow. As it stands now, those leaving in 2025 are:
- The Wonder Years – July 1, 2025
- This is us – July 8, 2025
- My wife and children – August 5, 2025
- The resident – September 4, 2025
- White collar – October 1, 2025
- Reba – November 6, 2025
- Archer – November 13, 2025
- How I met your mother – December 3, 2025
Langmire (Seasons 1-6)
Potential deletion date: January 1, 2025
Langmire was originally going to be removed from Netflix much sooner, but Netflix quietly renewed the rights before a “Last Day to Watch” notice even appeared on the show’s page, but the show was able to leave for good because the show was only on for a short time extended. period.
The show started life on A&E before Netflix rescued it for season 4 and beyond Yellowstone for Yellowstone was even a thing and still gets millions of views every year. With any luck, Netflix will keep the show and perhaps even consider bringing it back somehow as a Warner Bros. Television agrees.
Mind free riding (seasons 1–8)
Potential deletion date: April 5, 2025
We’ve already witnessed the slow outpouring of DreamWorks TV titles in recent years, with titles like Dinotrux, Cat in bootsAnd Turbo fast already left. To six more could leave by 2025with Spirit Riding Free possibly being the largest of the bunch. Featuring the voice talent of Amber Frank, Sydney Park and Bailey Gambertolgio, the series follows a brave girl and her horse who go on an adventure.
Which of these shows will you regret potentially leaving Netflix in 2025? Let us know in the comments.
