The FBI searched the house of Johannes-Paul Molenaarthe South Carolina pastor whose wife, Micadied by suicide in April.

An FBI spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment from PEOPLE, but WBTW, WPDE And The Sun News all reported that officers were seen outside John-Paul Miller’s home in Horry County, SC

Both WPDE and WBTW both reported that an FBI spokesperson said the agency was conducting “court-authorized law enforcement activities” at the home.

Miller’s attorney, Russell Long, confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE that the FBI searched the home.

“They executed a search warrant on his home this morning, as expected,” Long said. “Actually nothing new. Hopefully this is the end.”

Mica Miller, 30, was found dead at a state park in Robeson County, NC, of ​​a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to local authorities.

Mica and John-Paul, pastor at Solid Rock on Market Common in Myrtle Beach, were estranged at the time of her death. Just over a week before she died, Mica filed for separate support and alimony against John-Paul, which is the same as a legal separation, the Horry County Clerk of Courts told PEOPLE.

Mica’s loved ones have speculated there there could be foul play involved in her death, but local authorities have adamantly pushed back, saying the evidence of a suicide was “clear and convincing.”

The search of John-Paul’s Horry County home comes months after the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office told PEOPLE in May that the FBI was conducting an investigation. “parallel research” that was not involved in Mica’s death.

“There is no evidence linking him to her death,” Damien McLean of the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office told PEOPLE in May. “(The FBI is) investigating separately from her death. Her death has been ruled a suicide.”

The FBI has not said what the nature of the investigation is.
