An Albany man has pleaded not guilty in connection with the Menands shooting.
Zacceus Cancer, 24, is accused of shooting a 35-year-old man on September 7 around 4:30 p.m. in the area of Exit 6 and Broadway. The victim was treated at the scene and taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Rak was arraigned in Albany County Court Thursday morning on charges of attempted murder, attempted assault, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Rak is also accused of possessing cocaine.
Rak was sent back to the Albany County Jail and is scheduled to return to court on November 22.
