Amitabh Bachchan stood up for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan when a report claimed that she couldn’t have a baby with Abhishek Bachchan due to stomach tuberculosis.

In 2010, a Mumbai tabloid falsely claimed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan could not get pregnant because of a stomach. Amitabh Bachchan, angry This invasion of privacy saw him condemn the media’s actions on his blog, defending Aishwarya Rai and the Bachchan family’s right to privacy.
He strongly criticized the media for spreading false and insensitive information about his daughter-in-law, saying such reports were not only intrusive but also very hurtful, especially when it concerns personal and sensitive matters such as health.
“I write to you today in deep fear, pain and disgust. This article is completely false, completely fabricated, baseless, insensitive and of the lowest quality of journalism ever,” Amitabh Bachchan had written on his blog, as quoted by PTI and published by Rediff.
Amitabh Bachchan added that Aishwarya is like a daughter to him and not just his daughter-in-law. He said he will fight for her if anyone disrespects her. He wrote: ‘I am the head of my family. Aishwarya is not my daughter-in-law, she is my daughter, a woman, a lady in my house and home. If anyone speaks derogatorily about her, I will fight for her until my last breath. If you have something to say to the men in the house, Abhishek or me, I will bear it. BUT… if you make injudicious comments about the women in my house, I will not tolerate it!!!”
This was not the first time that Amitabh Bachchan stood up for Aishwarya Rai. When they were shooting with Akshay Kumar at Khakee near Nashik in 2003, a terrifying accident took place involving Aishwarya. Aishwarya had to be rushed to the hospital.
Amitabh Bachchan, who would later become Aishwarya’s father-in-law after she married his son Abhishek Bachchan, was very upset with the way the media reported her accident. “I couldn’t sleep for two nights. To see this happen before my eyes! Her back was torn open by cactus thorns. The bone at the back of her feet is broken. She suffered serious lacerations. And her injury was reported as trivial,” Amitabh Bachchan had said.
Aishwarya Rai married Abhishek Bachchan in a grand ceremony on April 20, 2007 and became the “Bachchan Bahu” Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Aishwarya and Abhishek have a daughter named Aaradhya Bachchan.
