Ryan Reynolds reportedly did not “aggressively berate” Justin Baldoni during an alleged encounter, despite the “It Ends With Us” actor-director accusing him of doing so in a A $250 million defamation lawsuit against the New York Times.
A source reportedly present at the alleged January 2024 meeting claimed to TMZ Thursday that the Deadpool & Wolverine star was “angry and strict” — and even “passionate” — during their conversion, but he didn’t yell at Baldoni.
The “Jane the Virgin” alum alleged in his lawsuit — which was filed Tuesday — that Reynolds reprimanded him for allegedly “fat-shaming” Blake Lively during the filming of “It Ends With Us.”

Lively, 37, claimed in her complaint filed with the California Civil Rights Department, as well her formal trial filed Tuesday in New York federal court that Baldoni, 40, made comments about her weight after giving birth during the filming process, in addition to lewd comments and more.
Additionally, TMZ’s source claimed that Baldoni wasn’t “blindsided” by the aforementioned conversation with Reynolds, 48, and Lively — which he claimed took place in the couple’s penthouse in New York City.
In his lawsuit, the “Five Feet Apart” director claims he thought he had been invited to their home for a meeting about the production, but was shocked by what he called the “traumatic encounter.”

However, the TMZ insider claimed that “everyone knew Baldoni’s alleged behavior would be addressed.”
The source also denied Baldoni’s claim in the court documents that the “inappropriate and demeaning taunts” took place “while other famous friends were coming in and out of their penthouse.”
Page Six reached out to Baldoni’s attorney and Reynolds’ rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Baldoni sued the Times, along with nine other plaintiffs, including his crisis manager, Melissa Nathanand his publicist, Jennifer Abel — after the publication reported on Lively’s allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation in a Dec. 21 article.

After the lawsuit, the Times stood by its reporting, telling Page Six in a statement that the story was “accurately and responsibly reported” and that they “intend to vigorously defend against the lawsuit.”
Meanwhile, Lively sued Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, alleging sexual harassment, lost wages, emotional distress, breach of contract and orchestrating a smear campaign against her. His attorney denied the allegations in her original complaint.
She claimed Baldoni’s behavior came up during the January 2024 “all-hands” meeting, where she reportedly “discussed a list of 20 examples of behavior” she was uncomfortable with and asked for it to end to create.
In his lawsuit, Baldoni claims he tried on numerous occasions to appease Lively for the sake of the film after her “multiple demands and threats” – but she tried to ban him from the premiere of “It Ends With Us.” in August 2024.

Rumors started circulating around the time of the premiere the couple’s fractured professional relationshipespecially when they didn’t appear together while promoting the film.
Lively was supported by her ‘It Ends With Us’ co-stars Jenny Slate And Brandon Sklenaras well as other friends in Hollywood.
Baldoni was dropped by his agencyWME, and sued by his former publicist after the filing of the complaint by Lively.
