In a groundbreaking move to improve urban emergency medical services, Blinkit has launched a rapid response ambulance service from Gurugram, aiming to deliver assistance within 10 minutes, CEO and co-founder Albinder Dhindsa announced on January 2.
“Ambulance in 10 minutes. We are taking our first step toward solving the problem of providing fast and reliable ambulance services in our cities. As of today, the first five ambulances are on their way in Gurugram. As we expand the service to more areas, you will see an option to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance through the @letsblinkit app,” Dhindsa said in the post.
Each ambulance is equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), stretchers, monitors, suction machines and critical emergency medications. A trained paramedic, an assistant and a qualified driver man each vehicle to ensure the highest standard of care during emergency situations.
The service operates on a not-for-profit model and is designed to be affordable for customers, with plans to expand to major cities across the country over the next two years.
