LAWTON, Okla. (KAUZ) – The City of Lawton will hold a swearing-in ceremony on Monday, January 13 to mark the transition between governments.
The ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. in the Wayne Gilley Auditorium at Lawton City Hall, located at 212 SW 9th Street.
According to the City of Lawton, the event will bid farewell to outgoing Ward 2 Councilmember Kelly Harris and welcome the following newly elected officials:
- Mayor Stan Booker
- Ward 1 Councilwoman Mary Ann Hankins
- Ward 2 elected Councilor R.L. Smith
The City of Lawton said all three officers will take their oath of office, officially beginning their three-year terms.
The community is invited to come to town for this occasion and enjoy a small reception with light refreshments.
