ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Post-holiday conditions brought early morning rain and cool 50s Thursday. Tonight will remain cloudy with lows dropping into the mid 40s. Clouds will linger Friday with limited sunshine and more seasonal low-mid 60s.
The last weekend of the year: Dense fog with lows in the low 50s on Saturday. Fog will lift, but it will remain mostly cloudy as isolated showers move into areas along I-75 in the late afternoon. The warming trend peaks with highs in the mid-70s. As a cold front moves east, rain and possibly strong storms will move into SGA early Sunday. Expect a large area of moderate to heavy rainfall to move toward I-75 by mid-morning, followed by gradual clearing through the afternoon.
Behind the border not so much cooler air but drier air for a dry Monday. Highs remain above average, low 70s and lows in the 50s. On New Year’s Eve, showers come early and clear to ring in the new year. On the first day of 2025, sunny and seasonally cool in the low 60s. Colder air will push south, sending below-average highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s late in the week.
