CEDAR RAPIDS – A Cedar Rapids woman is being held in the Linn County Jail on $25,000 bond on charges related to an armed robbery this summer at a gas station and liquor store in Hiawatha.
Emily Delores Edgeton, 24, was charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime.

According to a criminal complaint, Edgeton drove two men to Quick Mart Liquor & Wine at 655 Robins Rd. in Hiawatha on June 3. Police say the two men robbed an employee at gunpoint. One of the men told the employee to open the register while the other checked the shelves beneath the register where money was hidden, the complaint said.
According to Hiawatha police, the two, who are not named in the indictment, stole approximately $1,400 in cash.
The robbery was reportedly captured on video surveillance. Edgeton’s vehicle was caught under surveillance and she was stopped in the vehicle by Cedar Rapids police later that night. Officers found messages on Edgeton’s phone between her and one of the men accused of committing the robbery, including a message saying she had been arrested and was covering for him, according to the complaint.
“After the robbery, her phone was also searched for the robbery and the fact that she was a driver during a robbery,” the complaint states.
Edgeton was arrested Sunday and made his first court appearance Monday. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 2, in Linn County District Court.
