A shocking incident has occurred in Ladpura village in Dausa district of Rajasthan where a wedding celebration took a tragic turn.
A joyful wedding procession descended into chaos on Sunday evening when a person, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, recklessly drove his car into the wedding procession, injuring eight people. Golu Meena, a resident of Ladpura, was tragically killed in the incident. The remaining seven injured are currently suffering from serious injuries.
Dispute over crackers
Disturbing videos of the incident are circulating on social media, capturing the horrific sequence of events. Kailash Meena’s daughter’s wedding saw the arrival of the baaraat from Bhagwatpura in Tonk. As the procession progressed with music and dancing, a group of drunken young men began recklessly setting off fireworks.
Their actions escalated, with some placing large fireworks on the hood of a car and others igniting them in their hands.
A dispute arose between groups within the procession over the crackers. The argument escalated, causing one person to react in a fit of anger and drive his car recklessly into the crowd. The car crashed into people in its path, instantly turning the joyful atmosphere into one of horror and despair.
Victims referred to Jaipur and Dausa
MLA Ramvilas Meena, who was present at the wedding, personally transported the injured to Lssot Hospital in his own vehicle. Due to the severity of their injuries, all the victims were subsequently shifted to hospitals in Dausa and Jaipur.
On Monday morning, 17-year-old Golu Meena succumbed to his injuries. The other seven people are in critical condition. After the incident, the motorist fled and police are currently searching for him.
