John Krasinki crowned the coveted title of PEOPLE’S Sexist Man Alive
John Krasinski, who is being crowned PEOPLE’s Sexist Man Alive, wasn’t the first choice for the coveted title.
Surprisingly, Glen Powell and Pedro Pascal were the magazine’s number one picks, but both actors had turned down the title.
A well has spilled DailyMail.com that the magazine “begged them both to accept this” but was “constantly shut down.”
“Every year the magazine dreams about who wants to get it, but the person they want doesn’t always agree to it. Do you really think they wanted Patrick Dempsey last year?” said an insider.
The source continued: “And for this year, John, like Patrick, is a great guy, but he wasn’t their number one choice by any means.
This year the magazine asked Glen Powell and Pedro Pascal to be the pick a few times, but they kept saying no,” an insider revealed.
The source told the newspaper: “They both had their reasons for turning it down, but People Magazine begged them both to accept and they kept getting shot down.”
The source explained that Glen and Pedro did not place much importance on the title at this point in their careers.
“Glen wants to make more of an impact with acting now that he’s finally getting great roles and becoming more of a star,” the insider said.
The source added, “And Pedro doesn’t feel like he ever wanted to entertain this.”
Meanwhile, John also believed he got “punked” while speaking to PEOPLE after winning the title.
“He sees the gimmick in it and even though there is flattery in it, his ego doesn’t need it,” he said.
