A millionaire’s daughter refused to open the safe for two robbers posing as police officers, a court has heard.
Ashley Fulton and Aaron Evans dragged 22-year-old Emily Aitchison around her £2.5million Sandbanks home by her hair and threatened to shoot her mother if she did not open the safe.
However, Emily refused, entered the code incorrectly twice and warned them an alarm would go off if she did so a third time, the court heard.
The pair panicked and then ransacked the house, stealing more than £200,000 worth of luxury watches, designer handbags, jewellery, cash and mobile phones, before fleeing.
Mark Aitchison, father of Emily and husband of Kerry Aitchison, 55, is the CEO of Colten Care, which owns 21 care homes in the south of England.
Fulton and Evans went to Aitchison’s home address Poole harbour on February 21, 2023 at 1pm, posing as police officers while Ms Aitchison was home alone.
Mike Mason, prosecuting, told Bournemouth Crown Court at an earlier hearing that the robbers wore baseball caps and jackets that said ‘Police’ and showed her fake police ID when she opened the door.
They said they were doing door-to-door canvassing for one rape on the coast two days earlier.
As Mrs Aitchison leaned over to look at their ID, someone put a gloved hand over her mouth and said: “If you keep your mouth shut and behave, you won’t get hurt.”
Ms Aitchison was pushed to the ground “quite violently” and her hands and feet were tied, Mr Mason said.
The pair then proceeded to search the house and “seemed to be about to leave” when Emily Aitchison returned home for lunch.
