Billie Eilish spoke about the re-election of Donald Trump during her concert in Nashville on Wednesday.
The pop star gave a somber speech, expressing her concern that “someone who hates women so deeply is about to become president,” before performing her song “TV.”

“When I woke up this morning, I actually couldn’t imagine doing a show on this day,” she told the audience. “But as the day went on, I started to feel like it’s such a privilege that I get to do this with you and that we have this at a time like now.”
“I want you to know that you are safe with me and that you are protected here and that you are safe in this room,” she continued. “And the song that we’re going to sing is… about the abuse that exists in this world against women and a lot of the experiences that I’ve gone through and people that I know have gone through. To tell you the truth, I have never met a single woman who doesn’t have a story of abuse – not one.”
Eilish went on to talk about her own experiences with abuse before dedicating “TV,” a song that addresses the overturning of Roe v. Wade, to “all the women out there.”
More than two dozen women have accused Trump of sexual misconduct over the years, and in 2023 he was found liable in a civil case brought by author E. Jean Carroll. He has denied all allegations.
