There is no arguing about the taste of the audience. That should certainly be true of the American public with the election of Donald Trump.
Despite considering himself the greatest political comeback in the history of the world, this shows that he is not a historian.
And we will find out over the next four years if he is the peacemaker he claims to be, after he calls his friends Vladimir and Benjamin and tells them to stop fighting their wars.
The problem with that is that there are still more than two months to go before he takes on what he has declared the most important job in the world. Between now and then, there is a real possibility that the wars will pile up to get them over before the president takes the oath of office.

Clearly, Trump would be more supportive of Israel than Harris would have been if she had won.

The irony is that one of the biggest swings in support for him came from the Hispanic community, which has been a Democratic stronghold since the 1970s. It’s ironic given the comments he made about eating cats and dogs in Springfield, Ohio, a state he won by the largest margin of any president in the past four decades.
It just goes to show that what some of us consider verbal diarrhea pouring out of his unattended mouth has little effect on how he is perceived. Some of the things he has said during this campaign and during his two previous runs for the White House would make any locker room cringe.

But it has kept him in the news and, as they say, bad news travels at the speed of light, while good news spreads like molasses.
And this president-elect is not a good man, he is a convicted felon, the first time ever a criminal has been elected to the highest office in the land. He will be sentenced later this month for the New York hush-money scandal.
Yet accolades have poured in for him from all over the world, also from this country.
The most pointed must undoubtedly come from French President Emmanuel Macron, who said: “Ready to work together as we have done for four years, with your convictions and mine.”
