GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – In the spirit of giving back this holiday season, a young Grand Junction philanthropist is raising money to support local nonprofits. This year, his proceeds will go toward the fight against food insecurity by sponsoring the Food Bank of the Rockies.

Noah, the boy behind Noah’s Giving Table, is an elementary school student who started this fundraiser more than three years ago. With the help of his mother, the two operate a lemonade stand in the summer and hot chocolate in the winter. Using a ‘pay what you want’ system, all money raised goes back to charity.

This Friday, Noah will present the check during Family Night at the Western Slope Distribution Center from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. According to the Food Bank, he has donated enough money to provide 1,500 meals to those in need.

Noah’s efforts show that no matter your age, you can always lend a helping hand to those in need.

Family Night is an all-ages event where volunteers come together to pack meals. Packaged food will be distributed to Hunger Relief Partners, such as food banks in the valley. In addition to preparing meals, there are activities for children.

The Food Bank of the Rockies is calling for more volunteers. If you are interested in exploring volunteer opportunities, please visit foodbankrockies.org/ws.
