Tampa Bay WR encouraged by ‘prayers’ after season-ending injury

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin has just suffered another season-ending injury, but he has high expectations for himself in the future.
“Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said after the game that the ‘early indication’ is that wide receiver Chris Godwin suffered an ankle dislocation during the team’s 41-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens,” the NFL said. reported.
After the injury, Godwin shared his thoughts on Instagram.
“It is difficult to put into words the range of emotions of the past few days,” he says wrote. “I’m disappointed that I can’t be there with my brothers to go to war. I am saddened that my wife and family had to witness another horrific injury. And I’m frustrated that a strong start to the season was cut short.”
“However, my appreciation for life and the blessings I am so fortunate to have will never waver. I am still and will always be extremely grateful that I get to do what I love for a living. I am also encouraged by the outpouring of prayers/love/support from so many people. Thank you to everyone who took the time to donate to us foundation! This support will allow us to continue doing great things in our communities,” he added.
“We don’t always know ‘why,’ but that rarely matters anyway,” the wide receiver continued. “Adversity reveals our true character and I look forward to the opportunity to showcase mine through this process. Godwin underwent surgery last week and is expected to miss the rest of the season. He could return if Tampa can make the playoffs.
In the meantime, he’ll be sure to further the mission of his Team Goodwin Foundation.

Team Godwin, founded by Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Chris Godwin and his wife Mariah, aims to help our community’s pets in need,” according to the foundation’s website. reads.
Team Goodwin recently hosted a gala to raise support for the organization.
“We cannot express how incredibly grateful we are to be part of such an amazing community,” the foundation said posted on Instagram. “Thanks to you, we can help our most vulnerable pets and give at-risk animals a second chance at love, life and a forever family.”
