ED conducts new searches in Bengaluru, Mysuru – The Week

The Enforcement Directorate on Monday conducted fresh searches in connection with alleged cheating in the allotment of compensation land by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority. The searches were conducted in Bengaluru and Mysuru.

According to officials, the searches were carried out by the central agency at around eight places in both cities. This is the second round of searches being conducted by the central agency in the case against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family members.

The ED first conducted searches on October 18 in connection with the money laundering case. ED had then raided the MUDA office premises and even questioned some officials of MUDA. The money laundering case stems from the Lokayukta investigation against Siddaramaiah over alleged discrepancies in the allocation of land to Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi.

The chief minister recently approached a division bench of the Karnataka High Court after a single judge dismissed his plea challenging Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s approval for a probe against him in the alleged scam. After the controversy, Siddaramaiah’s wife Paravathi offered to return the compensation seats allotted to her. Lokayukta recently questioned Parvathi.

The MUDA site allocation case alleges that 14 compensatory sites were allotted to Siddaramaiah’s wife in an upmarket area in Mysuru, who had a higher property value compared to the location of her land “acquired” by MUDA for the development of an area. residential layout.

The MUDA had allotted plots to Parvathi on a 50:50 ratio in lieu of 3.16 hectares of her land, PTI reported. Reportedly, Parvathi had no legal title over the 3.16 hectares of land at survey number 464 of Kasare village, Kasaba hobli of Mysuru taluk.
