A North Platte family has graced the Haunted Driveway for nearly two decades, providing hope to those battling cancer

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – For almost two decades, the Foust family of North Platte has been decorating their driveway for Halloween.

The idea came after losing several family members and friends to cancer. Their love and passion for the holiday goes beyond the haunted driveway.

“The most important thing to me is seeing people come and enjoy the driveway,” said Reece Foust, the homeowner’s son. “And all the work we put in in September, it’s really nice to see all the people enjoying it.”

The haunted driveway show is free to all participants, but the family accepts donations.

All proceeds will be donated to the Dar Nadziei Foundation for the Fight Against Cancer.

“It’s a great charity; they help people in our area,” said homeowner Jenifer Foust. “It’s not a medical issue; if they need a ride, maybe they have a mortgage bill or a light bill, they will mow their yard. I mean, they just really help people keep going because it’s hard enough as it is.

The Haunted Driveway, 3020 W 6th St., is open through October 31, 2024; visitors can either drive or walk. Depending on the weather, they will have live haunted people to bring the exhibit to life.
