Kidnapped girl almost sold to a ring of prostitutes

SHAH ALAM: Six suspects who kidnapped a 12-year-old girl in nearby Klang tried to sell her to a prostitution ring, police say.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the deal fell through when the perpetrators learned that police had made public information about the girl’s disappearance.

He added that the search for two more suspects is still ongoing.

The girl was reported missing on October 8 after she went to her car to get food outside her apartment.

Police believe she later got into the car with the suspects after recognizing one of the women in the vehicle.

“She knew one of them as her brother’s ex-girlfriend,” said Comm. Hussein.

Comm Hussein said two suspects were charged in Petaling Jaya yesterday and four more would be charged.

“Efforts are ongoing to trace two more suspects,” he added.

A total of 27 drug syndicates were also busted.

In total, Selangor police seized drugs worth RM103.54 million during the same period.
