By admin On Tuesday, Apple unexpectedly unveiled the iPad mini 7. We knew an update to Apple’s smallest iPad was coming, but we expected Apple to hold some sort of event to announce the 2024 iPad mini and the new M4 Macs, which should also arrive in late October or beginning of next month.
Meanwhile, the iPad mini 7 is available for pre-order and will ship to buyers next week. The good news is that once you get the software ready, you’ll end up with a much more powerful version of the iPad mini that will be able to handle Apple Intelligence technology. A glance at the iPad mini 7 will tell you that the MacBook Pro M4 leaks we’ve seen in previous weeks have shown the original devices.
I had no reason to doubt the authenticity of the M4 M4 MacBooks, which are already sold on the black market in Russia. There was a point of contention regarding the choice of wallpaper on the M4 MacBook Pro, but it was not significant enough in light of all the other evidence. The iPad mini 7 practically tells us that Apple will do the unexpected and reuse wallpapers for brand new products.
The official name of the iPad mini 7 is iPad mini (A17 Pro), as you can see in the comparison below. This is the biggest improvement to the tablet. It has the iPhone 15 Pro chip it needs to support Apple Intelligence. This also means that the tablet has 8GB of RAM, which is another great upgrade.

Add in 128GB of base storage and the same starting price of $499, and the iPad mini 7 is almost a tiny iPad Pro. It’s certainly a little iPad Air, so to speak.

A comparison of Apple’s latest mini tablets on Apple’s website will show that the two devices are otherwise identical. This includes the default wallpaper chosen by Apple for marketing images.
The iPad mini 7 has the same wallpaper as its predecessor. This seems like an odd choice, but then again, Apple has given the mini a slight improvement overall. Yes, there is a significant increase in efficiency. But that’s basically all we get.
Apple apparently thinks this isn’t enough to qualify for a wallpaper change. Based on what we saw in these hands-on videos, Apple will do the same with the MacBook Pro M4.
The wallpaper on the MacBook Pro M4 box and display was the only thing that made people question the authenticity of the leaks. Why would Apple reuse the same marketing image for a next-generation device that’s expected to get a significant performance boost? On the other hand, why not?
Looking at these leaks, I found them to be very convincing. MacBook Pro M4 seemed real, and tests conducted on the device confirmed this thesis. When the second unboxing video from Russia came out, the wallpaper seemed irrelevant.
Now that the iPad mini 7 is available, it’s clear that Apple will reuse marketing images for some of its products whenever it sees fit.

Like the iPad mini 7, the entry-level MacBook Pro M4 will look almost identical to its predecessor, save for an additional USB-C port. It is identical to the MacBook Pro M3 Pro and M3 Max, which each have 3 Thunderbolt ports. Additionally, the biggest update to the MacBook Pro 2024 is in terms of specifications. The base model gets a base M4 chip with 16GB of RAM.
Finally, the launch of the iPad mini 7 suggests that we may not be hosting an Apple media event later this month. Instead, M4 Macs can be announced in press releases like the iPad mini 7.
