Sipping a cup of coffee is an essential part of my morning routine, but no matter how regularly I drink it, I have to admit that I keep my brews pretty basic. I’m usually half asleep when I make it, so convenience is the name of the game. That’s why I’ve been considering switching to a Nespresso machine for a while now, after hearing everything rave reviews from my colleagues. It makes complex, cafe-quality drinks with just a capsule and the push of a button – and that effortless, high reward factor is exactly what I’m looking for.
Speaking of my colleagues, some of them rely on the Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ coffee and espresso machine when they enter our New York City office. “I was never a fan of single-serve coffee makers,” but honestly the Nespresso won me over,” deputy editor Alicia say. “Whichever capsule I choose, the taste is so rich and full that it is just as tasty as the expensive coffee bar next to the office.” Right now the machine is going for a seriously low price of $99, so I plan on getting one for my own kitchen so I can access it regularly. Here’s why you should grab one for yourself (or a coffee-loving giftee), at.

What is the Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ coffee and espresso machine from Breville?
You will fall in love with this machine from the first sip. It produces five different cup sizes, ranging from 5 to 12 ounces, in addition to single and double espresso shots, which you can choose to brew hot or on ice. It does it all with a single capsule, which you can stock up on in a wide variety of flavors. (Pro tip: when contributor has ever put put dozens of them to the testshe found that it is versatile Volluto capsule is “the most crowd-pleasing of them all.” That would be a good start!)
Just place it in the machine, press the button and watch it work its magic after half a minute of warming up. The result is a drink that could have been brewed by a barista; the pods are designed to protect the flavor and freshness of the coffee. (Nespresso even claims that coffee in its capsules lasts 50 times longer than in a bag.) Once your cup is ready in a few minutes, you can recycle the capsule through the special program.
I would be remiss not to mention the compact design, another great advantage of this machine. Instead of taking up a huge portion of your countertop, it’s only just under 10 inches wide, and you can remove the water tank for added versatility.

What Amazon shoppers say
Average rating: 4.2 / 5
“Nespresso Vertuo Pop is compact, stylish and so easy to use! Simply insert a capsule, press a button and enjoy a rich, creamy coffee every time. The red color adds a nice touch to my kitchen and the machine is super easy to clean. Perfect for anyone who wants quality coffee with minimal effort. Highly recommended!” – hossein
“Easy to use and clean. Easy to load water and the pods. Wonderfully versatile with the ability to make a full cup or an espresso without me literally having to do anything. The pod tells the machine what to do. The price per capsule is well worth the quality of the results you get.” — Brian H Mayo
“I really wanted a Nespresso machine… I tried a few and ended up with this one. So far, so good. The biggest deciding factor was that it required a wide range of coffee sizes (only 2 models can go up to 12 oz), and the other model I tried had a ton of problems in the first two weeks. I’ve had the Pop+ for about a month now and no problem. Coffee is always consistent and you couldn’t ask for an easier process. It’s one button. The coffee does not leak, the coffee is always hot and small enough to fit in any kitchen.” — Natalie
Considering how expensive coffee shops have become (lattes can cost $7 or $8 each) the amount you save with this machine is astronomical. Add to that the 24% discount on the retail price, and it becomes a no-brainer.
