Police arrest shoplifting suspect after chase
Body cameras and drone footage show the moment Brookhaven police tracked down a man suspected of shoplifting at a local Target.
BROOKHAVEN, Ga. – New video captured by police cameras and drones shows Brookhaven officers chasing a shoplifting suspect.
Officials say the theft happened on Nov. 5 at the Target on North Druid Hills Road.
While the store’s loss prevention officers apprehended the man, Brookhaven police say he fled when officers arrived on the scene.
The department used drones to track the man as he ran and jumped fences near the new Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta campus.
Officers were able to arrest him in a nearby parking lot.
“Smart choice,” the officer is heard saying to the man on body camera footage.
Investigators have not released the man’s name or what he is accused of.
