Angry Man Utd fan slams Marcus Rashford for attending the match against the New York Knicks | Football

An angry one Manchester United fan has closed Marcus Rashford after he was spotted heading to a New York Knicks basketball game on the court in the NBA.

Rashford was left out of the latest England squad during the international break and decided to join the England squad instead United States to watch the Knicks.

The 27-year-old was spotted in one of the best seats in the house at Madison Square Garden as the Knicks defeated the Brooklyn Nets 124-122 in a thrilling showdown.

Rashford was then presented with Jalen Brunson’s game-worn shirt, which the American basketball star personally signed for the United forward.

While most United fans didn’t seem to mind Rashford’s trip to the United States, there was one supporter who unleashed an angry tirade on social media.

“Honestly, I feel like this guy has lost all interest in football over the last 20 months,” @Utd_Forever7, a verified account with more than 119,000 followers, posted on X.

‘MUFC have a new coach and everyone is excited and ready to impress him in training, but you’re on a £350,000-a-week wage and flying to New York just to watch a basketball match instead of your improve training!?

‘Do we see players like Salah/Saka/Haaland or other players who are essential to their team doing something like that in the middle of the season!? NO.

‘More than anyone I want Rashford to succeed because he was born and raised in RED, but we will never see it this way.

Rashford has scored just one goal and one assist in 11 Premier League games so far this season.

Other United fans have defended Rashford during his short break to the US with a message from @47kasz: ‘He can’t catch a break. He is a scapegoat for the media. I hate that Man Utd fans join in to treat him this way.”

@UtdFaithfuls added: ‘Exactly, it’s just sad to be constantly targeted like this, especially by your own fans.’
