Shah Rukh Khan death threat: Man whose phone was used to make calls claims he had filed a complaint against the actor

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan received a death threat and a demand for Rs 50 lakh on November 5, in a phone call to the Bandra police station. The phone number belonged to lawyer Faizan Khan, who claimed he was framed for filing a case against Shah Rukh Khan over a dialogue about deer hunting in the 1994 film Anjaam.

Faizan Khan, a lawyer from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, claimed that his phone was stolen on November 2 and he had already filed a complaint about the theft, alleging that the death threat was made by someone who had misused his phone.

During interrogation, Faizan Khan emphasized his innocence and stated that he had nothing to do with the threatening call and that someone might try to trap him.

He further disclosed an earlier complaint he had filed against Shah Rukh Khan, alleging that the actor was promoting enmity between religious groups. The complaint, filed at the Bandra police station, referred to a scene from the 1994 film Anjaam, in which Shah Rukh Khan’s character informs his valet about the body of a deer in his vehicle.

Faizan Khan further claimed that Shah Rukh Khan may have links with questionable elements, although no specific evidence was presented to substantiate this claim.

Speaking to India Today, Faizan Khan said, “My phone was lost, I had already filed a complaint. Today Mumbai Police came to my house and they asked about the call. I told them that ‘I am a lawyer, my The phone is lost, and I don’t know who called.”

He said he was questioned by police for more than two hours and was tried. He further claimed that the WhatsApp linked to his phone number was being used on another phone and not on the stolen mobile phone. He said the call was made using the SIM card inserted in the stolen phone and not via WhatsApp.

“I told the police to trace the phone used to make the call,” said Faizan Khan, adding that when the threat was made, he was in court.

On his objection to the Anjaam film dialogue, Faizan Khan said, “I have many friends from the Bishnoi community. They have 29 principles, including one that forbids killing a deer. If a Muslim man makes such an act, comment, it can fuel disharmony between two communities. That is why I had filed a complaint and sought a ban on the film and an FIR to be registered.”

He further claimed that his phone was stolen just days after he filed a complaint.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police is investigating the death threat against the Bollywood superstar. Police sources indicate that during the threatening call, the caller requested to be identified only as ‘Hindustan’.

This incident comes soon after similar threats were made against actor Salman Khan by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang over rumors that the actor was involved in a blackbuck poaching case.
