Trump’s overtaking in the US elections offers India huge export potential as the newly elected president claims to impose a 60 percent duty on Chinese goods, he added.
“Today is a good day for India. The election of Trump as US President will have a multi-faceted impact on the Indian economy, international economy, global trade and peace. These elections will have different aspects. Overtaking Trump (in elections) gives India a lot of export potential because Trump has stated several times in his election speeches that more than 60 percent import duties will be imposed on Chinese goods. “India is already at the top when it comes to exporting pharmaceutical goods to the US. Many pharmaceutical companies export their products to the US. Now it is a great opportunity for India to export more goods. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very close to being a friend of Trump. This (Trump’s victory) will have a big effect. Today morning, Prime Minister Modi had a detailed discussion with Trump about their upcoming meeting,” Narayan said.
Implying that Trump will also be good for the European economy, the economic expert said: ‘From day one, Trump’s main promise has been to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine. The war has consequences for the entire European economy. is an outreach and hope to the world that the European economy will flourish. More so, it also affects India. Exports coming from China (to the US) will slowly be replaced by exports from India as well as arms and ammunition will increase exponentially.”
The vote on Indian origin made a huge difference in electing Trump over Kamala Harris, he added.
Meanwhile, Indian-Americans are celebrating Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election and expressing optimism about the potential benefits for the economy, border security and world peace.
