Marvel Snap season missions have failed, but a fix is coming

Marvel Snaps The new season, War of the Nine Realms, brings the heroes and villains of Asgard to the fore. New additions such as Frigga, Surtr and Malekith have joined Odin, Thor, Heimdall and Jane Foster to weave Norse-themed tapestries for this set. Unfortunately, gods and monsters aren’t the only thing that appeared in this update; there were also quite a few bugs.

Upon loading, players quickly noticed that many seasonal challenges didn’t look quite right. Challenges that ask you to “play 100 4-Cost cards” or “move 75 cards” are a far cry from the usual fare, and a little deeper digging reveals that they shouldn’t be in the game at all. Fans went to the Marvel Snap social media channels to question the state of affairs, and the developers came up with a quick response that confirmed everyone’s suspicions.

Marvel Snap seasonal rewards on display for War of the Nine Realms.

One user pointed out that the requirements for some challenges might not have matched up, making a few seasonal missions a complete grind, and others so easy to complete that they might as well not even be in the game. Furthermore, the accumulated XP value also seemed off track. It didn’t take long for Community Manager Griffin Bennet to confirm that things were out of sync.

“Yes, the seasonal missions are incorrect and we are working on a solution. Not the intention at all,” he said via Discord.

While that may sound small, it’s actually quite a big deal. Each season is expected to hand out the same amount of XP each week, with the only variation being whether a month consists of four or five weeks. A four-week month means that the first week of seasonal missions should yield 9000 XP. War of the Nine Realms missions only award 8000 XP, which is the standard for five-week months. Those kinds of holes mean more tension for the players, and because each individual mission has absurd demands, all the fun is quickly sucked up.

No time for a resolution is expected yet as challenges are still ongoing at the time of writing. To stay up to date with the latest updates, you can follow the game’s various social channels or join the Disagreement server. Not only is it packed with news, tips and special events, there’s also an entire section dedicated to developers answering questions about the state of the game. This allows players to stay up to date and never have to worry about bugs or glitches for long.

With new maps every week, consistent balance patches and an extremely addictive gameplay loop, Marvel Snap has become one of the best digital card gaming experiences on the market.

War of the Nine Realms is a great starting point for this new Snap fans (once the seasonal missions are ready, of course), as even the free season pass path is filled with enough rewards to make climbing through the early ranks a breeze. Those who pay the going price of $9.99 for the Premium issue will receive it immediately Surtur for their collection, giving them a quick head start when it comes to deckbuilding.
