Wiltshire boy raises thousands to help children with stomas

A young boy with a stoma has said he is “very proud” to have raised more than £5,200 to help other children using the medical device.

Riley, aged six, from Melksham, ran 7 miles on October 28 in support of A Bear Named Buttony, a charity that provides the gift of a teddy bear to children with ostomies.

Each bear costs around £30, with Riley raising enough to buy more than 170 bears, each with its own stoma.

“He was really proud of himself, he was really grinning, it was great,” said his father, Andy.
