Donaldsonville mayoral candidate is accused of laundering more than 0,000 and bank fraud

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A mayoral candidate in Donaldsonville is facing additional charges following an investigation into stolen property from multiple parishes.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office said Glenn Price, 68, was charged with laundering more than $100,000 and illegally transferring money after turning himself in on Oct. 31.

Jail records show Price left bond after posting $40,000 bond.

Price was initially arrested and charged with illegal possession of stolen property and operating a scrap company without a permit on October 11.

Theodore Myers and Kyle Melancon were identified as suspects after officers in Livingston Parish investigated stolen copper wire from utility poles.

During the investigation, detectives discovered that Myers and Melancon had conducted multiple transactions with Price, who purchased stolen copper wire for cash. As part of the scheme, Price sold the stolen copper to a recycling center in Baton Rouge. Price reportedly profited more than $25,000 from this scheme.

Price took on Leroy Sullivan Sr. on Tuesday, November 5. in the mayoral race.
