A Russian man found drifting in a small boat in the Pacific Northwest has been rescued after two months.
His brother and 15-year-old nephew were also on board the drifting boat, but they were already dead at the time of the rescue.
The Far East Transport Prosecutor’s Office reported that a drifting ship was found in the Sea of Okhotsk on 14 local time, adding: “Two people died and one is alive and undergoing treatment.”
The rescued Mikhail Pichugin sailed by boat from Khabarovsk with his brothers and nephews to the island of Sakhalin on August 9, but he drifted at sea in despair for 67 days.
