“I’m still very angry, and I’m a forgiving person. But I’m still very angry,” Michele Milam, Andelean’s niece, told 7 News Detroit.
“Not only am I mad at the person, I’m mad at her people. Whoever she was with that night. Because I don’t know too many people who drink alone and drive home at 5 in the morning,” she explained . .
Police did not reveal where Glenn, a Harrison Township resident, came from.
Milam described her uncle as an ‘excellent person’.
“I wouldn’t have agreed to this (interview), but this is the type of person my uncle was. He was the voice of a person. He was a union representative at General Motors for over 40 years. He was the type of person that if you reading comments about him on Facebook, it’s just beautiful and amazing,” she said.
Milam said her uncle had never met a stranger, that he helped everyone and had married his teenage sweetheart.
“They overcame all odds. They did everything they could to be a great family. They raised their children,” Milam said.
“My uncle’s son just got a new liver last year. He just got everything for his new liver. He had cancer. Through no fault of his own. My uncle has been driving him to Chicago every other week for the last few years,” she says . explained.
She said her uncle would retire from General Motors this year. Then disaster struck.

Warren Police Lt. John Gajewski said, “I think if you ask any police officer about the worst aspects of the job, everyone would agree that one of, if not, the worst aspects of the job is that you should contact or knock on a police station’s door a loved one and tell them that their husband, father, mother, sister and wife are not coming home and that they were killed in a drunk driving accident.”
He said so far Glenn is only charged with biting an officer at the scene while toxicology reports are pending.
“It has never been easier to avoid or prevent drunk driving thanks to technology and these ride-sharing apps,” he explained.

Adrienne Woodland of AAA Michigan said you don’t have to be AAA to benefit from this.
Or as Milam noted: if you see someone who has had too much to drink to drive, intervene.
Milam said: “Why do we always focus on that one person driving? We need to focus on who got her to this point because in my opinion it didn’t happen alone.”
Glenn’s next court appearance is January 2.
